To stay protected, it is very important that you download the latest virus definitions and software updates.
New viruses and infections are created daily, so iolo regularly updates the definition files to keep your protection up to date.
As a default, iolo AntiVirus regularly (approximately once an hour) checks for updates. When an update is found, it is automatically downloaded.
If you want to turn automatic updates off, clear the Enable automatic updates (recommended) check box on the Settings window (see Configuring Updates below for more information).
You can check for and download updates at any time by clicking the Update Now or Renew Now link, which is provided in several areas of the application:
The Virus Definitions pane.
The Virus Definitions quick link.
The Updates pane.
A message briefly displays to indicate that the system is checking and/or downloading updates. When the window closes, your system is up to date.
Note: In some instances, a message will indicate
that you need to restart your computer to complete the updates.
To change settings for how you connect for downloads, open the Updates tab of the Settings window. This tab allows you to turn automatic downloads on or off and change any proxy server settings. This window can be accessed in several areas of the application:
Click Settings from the menu bar and select the Updates tab.
Click Settings from the Virus Definitions pane, the Virus Definitions quick link, or the Updates pane.
